Introduction: Free Online Tools to Grow Your Business
Does this describe you?
You’ve recently started an online business.
And you know that you need to invest in your business to help it grow.
One thing that you need to invest in are online tools.
But there’s also a limit to how much you can invest.
Particularly since you have no idea if your business will succeed or not.
And why pay lots of money for online tools when you have a small email list, little website traffic, etc?
It doesn’t make sense.
So you need to use some free online tools to help your business grow.
If that describes you, then I’m here to help.
I’ve got a list of free online tools to grow your business.
Every single one of these are tools that I’ve used in my own businesses at some point.
So I can recommend these free online tools with confidence!
And almost all of these tools have a paid version that you can swtich to as your business grows.
PLEASE NOTE: Some of the links in this post are affiliate links. If you click on one of the links and later make a purchase, I will receive a small commission. This helps support the blog and allows me to continue to make free content. I only recommend tools that I have personally used and love. Thank you for your support!

Website Page Builder
Elementor is a product that I believe in 100%.
And I’m not the only one.
There’s a reason why Elementor has over 3 million downloads from the WP plugin library.
And while my website is built with the Pro version of Elementor, you can do a LOT with the free version of Elementor.
In fact, before the Pro version of Elementor was released, my website was built with the free version of Elementor.
While the free version of Elementor doesn’t give you all the features of the pro version, you still get 30 awesome widgets to design your website.
If you’re looking for a free online tool to send emails to your list, then my recommendation is Mailchimp.
Many similar services also provide a free option.
But there are three reasons why I prefer Mailchimp:
1. Mailchimp integrates with everything. Or better said…everything integrates with Mailchimp. Which means you won’t have to use a third party tool like Zapier to integrate Mailchimp with your other online tools.
2. Facebook Lead Ads. Speaking of integrations, Mailchimp directly connects with Facebook Lead Ads. And you get that feature even on their free plan! Good luck finding that on the free plan of their competition. (most don’t even have it on their paid plan).
3. It just works. Because Mailchimp had been around so long, you can use it with confidence. You know, for example, that your emails will be delivered to your contacts. From time to time, I’ve tried out the free version of various competitors. And I’ve always run into email deliverability problems.
Here’s some of what you get with the free version of Mailchimp:
Email Optin Forms
Before Elementor came out with their popup builder, I used Convertful to collect email addresses on my website.
All I can say is that Convertful is amazing.
When I was using it, they didn’t have a free version.
But they do now.
So if you’re looking for a free online tool to build popups, floating bars, welcome mats and more, then definitely check out Convertful.
Here’s what you receive with the free version of Convertful:
I’ve been running online businesses for 6+ years.
During that time, I’ve used Canva to design hundreds of images for social media posts and blog posts.
And here’s how much money I’ve spent on Canva.
One dollar. (to buy a very specific image that I couldn’t find elsewhere).
One dollar in 6+ years.
Not bad at all.
Canva does have a paid version but personally I’ve never had a need for it.
Social Media Posting
If you want a free online tool for posting to Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, etc., then Buffer is my recommentation.
Buffer is basically the grandfather of social media posting.
They’ve been in the game for a long, long time.
So you know that they know what they’re doing.
Want access to their free plan?
Just sign up for a trial of one of their paid plans.
And at the end, downgrade to the free plan.
Here’s what you’ll receive on the Buffer Free plan:
I don’t do a lot of photo editing.
But when I need to crop or resize a photo, then Fotor is my go-to-tool.
(In fact, I used Fotor when I was working on this blog post.)
In addition to photo-editing, Fotor lets you make collages and design social media images.
Definitely an all-around great tool for all of your photo editing needs.
Here are some of the features of the free version of Fotor:
Meeting and Appointment Scheduler
I’ve tested out dozens of free programs for scheduling meetings and appointments.
And in my opinion, Calendly gives you the most features in their free version.
Plus, Calendly has a VERY clean interface.
So if you’re looking for a free program to schedule meetings or appointments with your clients, then Calendly is my recommendation.
Here are some of the features of the free version of Calendly:
I’ll be honest.
I’m always surprsed when someone doesn’t have a Skype account.
I use it not just to talk to clients with video.
I also use to it talk to family and friends.
And I’ve been doing it for years.
Plus, video calls on Skype are 100% free.
What’s not to love about that???
If you want to do live streaming, then BeLive is my recommended free tool.
Not only do they have some interesting and unique features, they also have amazing customer support.
Even though I was on the free plan, they treated me like gold.
I don’t do much live streaming, but when I do, I will always use BeLive!
Here’s what you get with their free plan:
Surveys and Quizzes
TypeForm is just a nice, clean, easy to use tool.
Not just for you, but for the people who are taking your quizzes/surveys.
If you need a free online tool for surveys or quizzes, then definitely check it out.
Here’s what you get with the free version:

Video Hosting and Marketing Platform
I put my videos on YouTube.
But if you’re looking for a free online video host with extra features, then definitely check out VooPlayer.
VooPlayer gives you lots of options for customizing the look of your video player.
And the free version also lets you put an opt-in lock on your videos.
So people have to give you their email address in order to watch your video.
Here’s what else you get in the free plan:
Video Creation Platform
Do you want to create marketing videos for your online business?
Or turn your blog posts into video?
