My Four Great Truths About Life

In a recent conversation with my life coach, he asked me what my four great truths about life are – the core ideas by which I try to lead my life.

The question caught me off guard so I had to think for a bit before responding.

Below are the four ideas that I generated during our conversation.

Given the spontaneity of my response, I’m generally quite pleased with what I came up with.

My Four Great Truths About Life

Life is precious. Period.
I have no idea if there’s any sort of life after the one that we’ve living right now.

Maybe there is, maybe there isn’t.

What I know is that you and I are alive at this very moment.

And so we need to take advantage of the preciousness of our lives and live them as fully as possible.

We all have greatness within us.
I truly believe that we all have greatness within us.

You have to cultivate your greatness though.

You have to decide what you want to be great at and then put in the necessary time and effort.

If you do, then you have the potential to achieve greatness in almost anything.

Ordinary moments matter just as much as extraordinary ones.
We often place a lot of focus on extraordinary moments, on peak experiences.

Meanwhile, we give short shrift to the ordinary moments of day to day life.

But those ordinary moments can add much joy and beauty to our lives, if we’re willing to wake up and pay attention to them.

We have an opportunity and a responsibility to create a planet that works for all living beings.
Let’s face it, there are a lot of problems in the world.

We all need time to relax, have fun, pursue hobbies, etc.

At the same time, I believe we have both an opportunity and a responsibility to work together to create a planet that works for all living beings.

Life is about balancing your personal needs and goals with doing your part to make the world a better place.

Although I was caught off guard, I’m glad my coach asked me the question.

I had never thought about it before and think it’s a GREAT question, one that we should all ask ourselves.

Knowing what your great truths are can serve as a compass to help you make sure you’re living your life the way you want to.

And now I turn it over to you….what are your four great truths about life?

Set aside some time to answer the question or do as I did and answer it as quickly as you can.

Either way, make sure that you use what you come up with to guide your life.

These are you great truths about life after all…
